Does One Always Have to Struggle to Achieve Success?

Everyone, except those from wealthy families, confronts struggles on their path toward success, only to find that many do not ultimately achieve their goals. This reality, often overlooked, highlights the multifaceted nature of success and the importance of perseverance against adversity.

Life is inherently filled with challenges. Whether striving for something coveted or merely managing each day with tasks you dislike, every objective necessitates dedication and passion. Working towards goals should be embraced as part of the journey rather than perceived as an insurmountable obstacle.

Struggle Is Not Inevitable

Struggling to achieve success is not a universal prerequisite. This varies significantly based on one's belief system and decision-making, with luck also playing a crucial role. Luck is the perfect alignment of situations, opportunities, and timing. The saying "Yo to manzil mil gayi kisi ko Ghar se nikalte he, Hume to arsha ho gaya sirf rasta pane me" (When someone gets their destination while leaving the house, we only gave them advice, only for the journey) underscores the idea that sometimes, success comes unexpectedly.

From my perspective, as long as you take the time to accomplish tasks, and the journey and the experiences that come with it make the achievement more meaningful, even if you had to struggle more, it is better than achieving without the journey. The people you meet, the obstacles you face, and the victories you celebrate all contribute to the success that you achieve.

Success Through Hard Work

By definition, success stems from hard work. However, individual perceptions of struggle can vary significantly. Struggling is beneficial; it shapes you into a more resilient and capable individual. Embrace the struggles as part of your journey and keep striving.

A successful athlete dedicates immense effort every day, as does a successful businessperson. Nothing of value happens without hard work. Even the world’s top tennis player practices daily, and wealthy business leaders continually work to maintain their financial stability.

Choosing to settle for low-hanging fruits and working below your capacity means facing fewer struggles in life. However, challenges are par for the course. Success is not an endpoint; new struggles come as you reach your goals, pushing you to new heights.

Perspective and Success

Defining success is subjective; it varies from one individual to another. A successful person dedicates themselves to their craft, be it sports or business, and continually strives to improve. Hard work is essential for any significant achievement.

Hard work does not lead to instant success; it requires sustained effort and perseverance. Success is measured not only in the end result but in the journey itself. Struggles shape you, teach you valuable lessons, and prepare you for the next challenge.

Regardless of your definition of success, it is important to recognize that the journey is every bit as crucial as the destination. Embrace the hard work, the struggles, and the challenges that come with it. Be strong and keep going.
